Continuous Development Mindset – How to Awaken It?
Career

After studying a lot about the theme “Continuous Development Mindset,” I realized that it is not just about the idea of always staying “up to date” on what is currently new. It is mainly about leaving behind certain fixed references, adapting to constant paradigm shifts, keeping in mind the need to keep up, and being the protagonist of these changes.
LLL: Lifelong Learning
The Continuous Development Mindset trend is being represented worldwide by the acronym LLL – Lifelong Learning, which summarizes the idea that everything we learn is transformed throughout life.
Changes are inevitable: either we keep up, or we get left behind. Therefore, studying is not a choice; it is essential. And beyond dedication to study, consistency, effort, and knowledge exchange, it is fundamental to keep in mind some truths to awaken a growth mindset:
We are capable of stepping out of our comfort zone and learning whatever we want;
Fear of certain challenges is not our enemy; it makes us strategic;
Problems to be overcome are great allies of learning;
Planning is necessary to stay focused on each priority separately, and making mistakes is one of the items on the success checklist.
And in this new world of constant learning, we are, personally and professionally, the result of our experiences, as they are what transform and reinvent us.
For this reason, it is fundamental to always maintain a positive attitude in life, because learning comes in many forms and from many different sources: people, contexts, situations, and, especially, from where we least expect it.
Receptive to knowledge, we will not only follow this evolution, but be part of it. Professionally, this relates to development, competitiveness, and employability. Personally, to self-confidence and social inclusion.
I realized, and was delighted to see, that all the challenges I have been subjected to, the invitations to be the protagonist of my learning, to learn, apply, and make mistakes—all of this has a name: continuous development mindset.
“Be like a child: fearless, curious, and eager for new discoveries. Do not settle: dare, explore, reinvent yourself. Knowledge is power.”
