How to develop your skills for success?
Career

For over two years, we have been inside a storm called CORONAVIRUS. There was no weather forecast to show us or warn us of what was to come. Suddenly, we were already inside the storm, with no end in sight. At the same time, because of this storm, many things could be transformed and given new meaning.
We observed changes across various areas: digital transformation reached companies faster, people needed to adapt, technological advancements became necessary for remote work, online education, the routine of work vs. home vs. children, the strengthening of empathy, the sense of community, the prioritization of essentials in the face of the financial crisis, among so many others.

The importance of developing your COMPETENCIES in challenging times
Professor Leandro Karnal talks about the importance of improving ourselves to face the changes resulting from life's storms.
Our competence is a harmonious set of knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
He presents competencies in 3 (three) groups: emotional, professional, and technological.
This does not mean we should only work on one of these groups; rather, their development must be continuous and integrated.
Within each group, there are key competencies highlighted to be worked on.
These competencies will be essential in turbulent storms like the current one or in other situations. The question is: how do you behave in the midst of your storms? Do you freeze or do you confront them? Do you find new meaning or do you give up?
Let's look below at each of the competencies mentioned.
The Types of Competencies
1. EMOTIONAL COMPETENCIES:
LEARNING - relates to the ability to learn and renew knowledge, attitudes, and skills throughout one's entire life, in frequent and continuous cycles.
RESILIENCE - the ability to maintain balance after facing intense events.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE - is a person's ability to assess their own emotions, as well as those of others, and know how to deal with them in the best possible way.
AUTONOMY - is a characteristic found in individuals capable of solving problems, making decisions, and adapting behaviors across the most diverse situations.
CURATION - is the ability to identify the most relevant and strategic information, experiences, and knowledge for someone's development and their life projects.
EMPATHY - is the ability to emotionally analyze and understand other people, reacting in a constructive way.
2. PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
STRATEGY - means being prepared to act with systemic vision, efficiency, and speed, building desirable and positive situations for oneself, for a team, or for an organization.
PRODUCTIVITY AND TIME MANAGEMENT - is knowing how to prioritize activities and resources in a routine, optimizing the time and energy used.
PURPOSE - is a central objective in a person's life. Having purpose is related to identifying goals connected to a person's character and virtues, and it has a positive effect on motivation, behavior, and well-being.
LEADERSHIP - is the ability to exert positive influence and inspiration, motivating and guiding a group toward objectives.
3. TECHNOLOGICAL COMPETENCIES
ADAPTABILITY - is the characteristic of a person who shows a high ability to shape themselves according to the situations faced, knowing how to choose the right way to act, speak, and make decisions based on the particularities of the context experienced.
DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION - is an increasingly common phenomenon of organizations reinventing themselves in their processes and management. More than just digitizing processes, it seeks a digital culture, a new way of operating, becoming more agile, technological, and efficient.
CONNECTIVITY - is the ability to connect to different devices, channels, platforms, and technologies, and use them beneficially to achieve greater efficiency and quality in actions, whether professional or personal.
COOPERATION - is the behavior that permeates a group and allows collective goals to be achieved through the combination of individual and collaborative efforts.
CUSTOMER SERVICE – is the ability to establish bonds, relationships, and meet the needs and desires of audiences and clients.
INNOVATION - is the culture and management method that continually seeks new paths, solutions, and possibilities.

There is still time to invest in yourself and improve your skills, even if the storm ends!
