Vibe Coding is more than just a new tech buzzword. It is a paradigm shift in how developers interact with code. The logic here is simple: you describe what you want, and the AI delivers a functional skeleton that you can review, test, and refine. It's like pair programming, but with a generative AI instead of a teammate. And, believe it, it learns fast. 

How we apply Vibe Coding in practice 

At Pitang Labs, Pitang's innovation laboratory, Vibe Coding has become a powerful tool in the system modernization journey. Projects previously based on legacy technologies, such as JSF and Delphi desktop applications, are being rewritten for modern web architectures with agility and consistency.  

The process follows these step-by-step stages: 

1. AI-Powered Analysis: 

- We feed LLMs with existing code; 

- The AI identifies patterns, components, and business logic; 

- Generates mapping to Frontend/Backend equivalents (In our case, we have already tested some results with React/Spring Boot); 

2. Intelligent Generation: 

- LLM generates React/Spring Boot code based on the files provided as input (legacy and new templates); 

- It is not "blind copy-paste" - it is contextual and intelligent generation; 

- Maintain control with 3 checkpoints: review, test, and refine. 

3. Specialized Refinement: 

- Refining and adjusting is essential; 

- The gain in refinement comes through experience; 

- Combinations of tools and generative assistants help in refinement. 

With this, the migration process, which previously could take months, becomes more agile, incremental, and sustainable, while maintaining the security and reliability of the final system. This process has reduced hours of repetitive work, allowing our developers to focus on what really matters: business logic, architecture, and innovation. 

Warning: Vibe Coding does not work for every project 

Despite the clear benefits of Vibe Coding, it is essential to recognize that this approach does not apply to all scenarios. Projects that require greater granular control, have extremely complex business rules, or lack clear documentation may not benefit as much from this methodology.  

In addition, Vibe Coding demands a new working style: you need to learn how to structure effective prompts, provide adequate context to AI models, and maintain standardized logic throughout the project. The speed gained in code generation, especially in repetitive or pattern-based tasks, must be balanced with greater investment in the refinement, validation, and review stages.  

Therefore, we do not recommend using Vibe Coding in the following cases: 

• Completely non-standardized systems; 

• Teams unfamiliar with AI; 

• A team lacking the maturity to review and adjust what was automatically generated.
