Process Management

Understand BPM (Business Process Management)

Business Process Management (BPM) is a methodology that focuses on improving a company's business processes.  It is a holistic approach that looks at all aspects of the organization's business processes, from end to end, and takes into account the different levels of process management, from strategic to operational.

Its goal is to optimize business processes and improve performance in terms of efficiency, effectiveness, agility, cost reduction, and enhancing the quality of products and services provided. It can be used in a variety of processes such as customer service, human resources, finance, and manufacturing. It is a methodology that should ideally be rooted in the organization's culture.

The benefits are many, but to be successful, it is essential that BPM is supported by senior management. In addition, all of this can be put into practice more efficiently with the support of technology.

BPMS - Business Process Management Suite

Then comes the term BPMS, which stands for Business Process Management Suite. It is a platform for business process management designed to help organizations achieve their strategic goals more efficiently, increasing customer satisfaction, boosting employee productivity, and reducing costs.

BPMS is the digital transformation of HR processes, the medium where we put into practice everything that was envisioned with the business process management methodology, aimed at automating processes and minimizing human interaction with repetitive activities that are part of teams' day-to-day routines.

It enables the intelligence of processes, usually held by people, to be embedded into the system, making it easier to track information, control deadlines, build business rules, and more. The application of this tool is very broad and can be used to manage any type of process, from simple tasks like sending an email message to complex processes like project management.

Application of BPMS in Human Resources

The application of BPMS in the HR department can be implemented starting from the selection process, through employee onboarding, time tracking, benefits management, all the way to the offboarding process. In this way, the tool facilitates the work of HR managers, since all processes are managed in a centralized and automated manner.

See some examples of how BPMS can be used in the HR sector:

- Candidate selection process: automate sending emails to candidates, track interview progress, and make the final decision regarding the approved candidate;

- Employee onboarding process: register the employee in payroll, issue the employment contract, and send the necessary information to the HR team;

- Employee training process: register employees in the training system, schedule training sessions, and track the progress of the process;

- Employee offboarding process: issue the termination letter, calculate severance pay, and send the necessary information to the HR team.

In addition to process management, BPMS can also be used to create key performance indicators (KPIs), which allow monitoring process efficiency and making strategic decisions to improve company performance.
