The National Electric System Operator (ONS) is the body responsible for coordinating and controlling the operation of electricity generation and transmission facilities in the National Interconnected System (SIN) and for planning the operation of the country's isolated systems. For 25 years, it has ensured that energy reaches consumers in all regions of the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, through diverse energy sources.
The areas that served ONS end users faced similar challenges: a large amount of time spent on manual activities with little added strategic value, and greater vulnerability to error. Thus, the IT department contacted automation platforms in order to carry out proof-of-concept tests and evaluate the best solution for the operator.
Pitang, a long-time partner of ONS, presented Automation Anywhere, a leading solution in intelligent automation and process intelligence. The platform also enables the power of Generative AI and offers an environment where users can create, deploy, and manage software robots to automate business processes in a simple way.
The solution was tested in parallel with a competing platform so that the institution could assess the technology's viability and choose the one that met its needs. At the end of the POC period, Automation Anywhere and Pitang were chosen. The process was carried out with excellence, making the project feasible.
