Success Story

The new version of the MPPE Transparency Portal represents a leap forward in terms of governance, transparency, and digital citizenship.

The Public Ministry of Pernambuco (MPPE) was facing difficulties maintaining an effective, up-to-date, and accessible transparency portal. The previous structure, based on an outdated open-source platform, did not meet the legal requirements of the Access to Information Law (LAI) or the best practices recommended by the booklet of the National Council of the Public Ministry (CNMP).
The old solution faced operational and infrastructure difficulties, noncompliance, and limitations on access to information, with compromised user experience and accessibility.

Faced with an outdated transparency portal and serious infrastructure, security, and legal compliance flaws, MPPE undertook a careful strategic planning phase for a comprehensive digital transformation. This technical and administrative planning focused on selecting a Digital Experience Platform (DXP), including the right to use and subscribe for 36 months to the cloud DXP platform (for development/testing and production environments), an additional data storage service, an assisted operations service, and technical training for administrators.
The subsequent broad competitive bidding process, guided by the directives of the National Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office and including a rigorous qualifying Proof of Concept (POC) to verify vendors' technical and functional compliance, culminated in MPPE's choice of the Liferay platform, with development and support from Pitang, a specialist in digital experience solutions for the public sector.
More than providing a platform, Pitang acted as a strategic partner, with deep technical expertise and sensitivity to the particularities of the public sector, from conception through post-deployment.
