Banco do Nordeste do Brasil S.A. is the largest regional development bank in Latin America and stands out from other financial institutions because of its mission: to serve as the Development Bank for the Northeast Region.
One of the project's biggest challenges is bringing innovative solutions to the bank's internal and external customers, with usability and accessibility as guiding principles, since there are more than 10,000 users on the intranet, more than 70 sites and workgroups. On the internet, there are more than 1.5 million accesses per month, more than 200 pages, and 241 users.
Liferay was chosen because it is a market-leading platform and makes it possible, quickly and easily, to build collaborative portals, allowing each area of the organization to own its content both on the intranet and on the internet. Currently, all areas of the bank interact with the platform. Many teams have their work groups on the intranet, and the main information that should be disseminated throughout the organization is also published on the platform. As for the internet portal, each area independently publishes and edits its content.
