SGE - Educational Management System, is a decentralized and integrated school network management system (Basic, Professional and Higher Education) that meets the needs of the administrators and of the community (teachers and students). The use of SGE by the Public School System provides for all those involved (Administrators, Teachers, Students, Parents and Guardians) Information Technology resources that result in a more efficient management of the processes inherent to the educational systems and faster and better access to information.

Solution Characteristics:

  • Decentralization. The various schools and corporative agencies do not have to depend on communicating for using the system, the databases are periodically synchronized with the corporative database;
  • Information through the WEB. The entire corporative database will be available on the Internet so that all interested parties can have access to information about students. For example, a student's parents can access a report card through the Internet, a teacher can provide study material in SEE's website;
  • Agility. Official documents or any other information can be immediately printed by the schools or by SEE;
  • Easy to use.A modern interface friendly to all types of system user profiles;
  • Hierarchical Viewing of the Information. The system provides different visions of the database according to the hierarchical level of the institution using it. For example, a school only sees information about its students, SEE sees information about any student in any school of the Public School System.

    • Use of state-of-the-art technologies: XML, PDF, CMS (content management system);
    • Integration with other technologies support;
    • Integrated WEB Gateway using gateway with content management;

    • Project in lowly linked layers;
    • Use of market frameworks and open standards (JAVA and SWING);
    • Architecture that allows for the evolution of technology and of paradigms;
    • Multi-platform (Linux, MS/Windows).
  • Data bank
    • Database following normalization and consistency rules and projected to access and explore data and information through Data Warehouse and/or BI (Business Intelligence) techniques;
    • SQL/ANSI standard;
    • Possible to adopt market standard SGBDs such as: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server (project was developed using PostgreSQL);
